Venture capitalists who invest in startups—the stories of 12 venture capitalists met by a business storyteller

[Venture capital, a business that leaves behind people and experiences. Interviews with 12 venture capitalists who invest in odds of less than 1%]

People Who Invest in a 1% Chance (1% 가능성에 투자하는 사람들) is a collection of interviews with 12 venture capitalists whom business storyteller and author Jo In-hu met.

To the general public, venture capitalist is still an unfamiliar profession, so little is properly known about their specific roles and characteristics. Because it is a high-strung profession that handles countless numbers and data, the fragmentary image of the venture capitalist is fixed as something extremely rational and cold. Ironically, however, what they regard as most important when assessing an investment target is none other than 'people.' Beyond figures and data, they carefully weigh entrepreneurial spirit and passion.

Through interviews with a total of 12 venture capitalists, this book reveals what kind of passion they bring to their own lives and how they move for economic and social value greater than money. The 33 tips drawn from each interview will serve as a concrete guidebook for venture capitalists, those currently working at startups, and those who dream of doing such work.

In that it lets readers build up concepts and knowledge about venture capital—rather unfamiliar to the general public—while also surveying the outlook for startups and the broader industrial ecosystem, it should prove a useful work of general-interest nonfiction.
